What is Emobi?

Emobi is an electric tuk-tuk rental service that allows visitors to freely tour the area. This vehicle seats three passengers and can be easily driven by anyone with a regular driver's license. It has a range of about 30 km and a maximum speed of 50 kph. This vehicle is open without doors, allowing visitors to enjoy driving while feeling the breeze.

It is colorful and cute looking, but of course, a license is required! Emobi vehicle is classified as a mini two-wheeled vehicle. It is operated by turning the throttle, not the accelerator pedal. One of the following licenses is mandatory. Be ready to bring them with you on the day of your visit.

What to Bring:

Please bring your passport and 2A or 2B with you.

1: Passport: It must be within 1 year from the date of entry.
2A: International driving permit & home country license: International driving permit must be issued under the 1949 Geneva Convention.; Japanese Driver's License Example
2B: Foreign driving license & Japanese translation: Translations are available from the embassy or consulate of the country that issued the driver's license, or JAF in Japan. In the case of a Taiwanese driver's license, it must be issued by the Association for East Asian Relations.

Rental Flow

Please read this section in advance to ensure safe and comfortable use of the electric tuk-tuk!

It can be a bit stressful to drive the same public road as a regular car with a top speed of well over 50 kph.

However, there are many situations where the compact body of Emobi is advantageous.No worries! Fasten your seatbelt, obey the traffic rules, and off you go!

1 Follow traffic rules.

2 At the time of an accident, immediately call the police(110), and Emobi staff(080-8261-1259).

3 For the safety of children, height restrictions apply and an adult must ride with the child in the back seat.When riding, accompanied by children under 12, helmets are available.

4 Please dress appropriately and refrain from wearing heels or sandals.Back seats may be cold due to open doors, so we strongly recommend you to wear long pants or skirts.

4 STEPS

*This location operates as an unmanned rental service

①Head to the Vehicle

This is an unmanned Hub with no staff on site. At your reservation time, go directly to the tuk-tuk parked in its designated space. Please remember to bring your regular driver's license.

②Get Ready in the App

Log in to the reservation app and complete the traffic safety test and the approximately 4-minute safe driving video. The unlock button becomes available once you finish.

③Unlock with Your Phone and Depart

Tap "Start rental / Unlock" to switch the vehicle on. There is no key handover. When you're ready, please depart.

④Return

Park the vehicle back in the space where you found it and check for forgotten items. Finally, tap "Lock" in the app to lock it (power off). No return procedure with staff is required.
